Abstract
The superior geopolitics and being at the distance of the big international powers, the source of cheap raw materials for the world economy and the center of the world's energy, especially oil and gas, and the large consumption market for the products of industrialized and developed countries, have made West Asia the focus of the world's attention. In fact, this area is only a fertile ground for world powers, and of course, there has been no action to preserve the life of the ecosystem of this area by international stakeholders, and environmental crises are more problematic than ever as a threat to the environment of this area of the world. Basically, caring for the ecology of the West Asian region requires the development of warning systems, redefining the priorities of national and international policies in this region, and prioritizing ecological security in policies and planning. This research explains the existing environmental crises in the West Asian region with a descriptive-analytical method and evaluates the performance of the countries located in this region of the world regarding the discussed issue and provides optimal solutions. The results of the research show that West Asia has made great progress in the field of environmental management, but more emphasis should be placed on eliminating the drivers of environmental changes instead of their effects.
