The basis of sea power is the use of the sea for trade and resource control. In this framework, the survey of the seas will determine the fate of decision-making on the coast. In recent years, the impact of the Indo-Pacific region on geopolitical equations and the change in power balances has led to the orientation of policies and the concentration of global and regional powers to these regions. From this point of view, the north and west of the Indian Ocean, especially the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, and its strategic waterways are in the focus of attention. In the same direction, transregional countries have formed maritime alliances in these regions with the cooperation of regional countries with the aim of ensuring maritime security and securing their national interests.Main purpose of this research is to investigate and analyze the effectiveness of the formation of maritime alliances in the national security of Iran, especially maritime security. The research methodology is based on argumentative approach, and the research method has a descriptive-analytical nature, and its information is also collected by the library method. The findings of the research showed that the inspection and seizure of commercial vessels and oil tankers, the insecurity of maritime traffic and transportation routes, maritime control and the emergence of military threats in depth are among the most important threats of these maritime alliances for national security and in order to deal with these threats, it is necessary to develop the depth of the country's defense deterrence on the seabed, maritime sovereignty in the surrounding strategic waterways, and intelligent management of fossil energy transit in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
