An explanatory framework for analyzing the cognitive-perceptual logic of Iraqi society (Case study: occupation problem)

Abstract

Iraq has a complex and multifaceted society. Analysts generally face many difficulties in analyzing this society. The sometimes contradictory and unpredictable behavior of this society has been seen many times. The current research seeks to estimate the sources and cognitive foundations of Iraqi society in the political-social field. The main question of the research is that the resources and cognitive logic of the Iraqi society can be identified and articulated in the form of what components and indicators, and is it possible to provide a framework for the analysis of this region and the psycho-social cognitive structure? From the perspective of the authors, the foundations and cognitive-perceptual resources of Iraqi society can be analyzed in five interwoven areas: Islamic; Iraqi nationalism; socialist; (post) modernist; and historical In order to understand or even future study any political-social phenomenon and process in Iraq, one must go to these principles and analyze categories in relation to them. As a case study in this investigation of the occupation of Iraq, the quality of the Iraqi society's approach to this issue, as well as its results and ideas for the Iraqi society, including the elites, civil society, and the masses, will be examined.
