The role and place of new international organizations and institutions in the current global order (a case study of the Shanghai Organization and BRICS)

Abstract

The current global order is facing multiple developments such as the emergence of new powers and the occurrence of various security, economic, environmental and geopolitical issues. On the other hand, criticisms on the performance of international organizations in playing an influential role in solving international issues in various fields such as solving border and ethnic conflicts, eradicating poverty and timely dealing with emerging issues such as climate change and the environment and providing solutions for the management of technologies New, raised. In this research, the role and position of new and original international organizations from the perspective of institutionalism in the current global order has been investigated and identified. This article has been done in a descriptive-analytical way by using library resources, examining documents related to the establishment and formation of international organizations and documents related to the position of this organization in relation to various issues through MAXQDA software. Concepts and themes around the topic and problem of the research were identified and then categorized. In the analysis of the obtained results, first the most important features of the global order are described, and then by establishing a relationship between the most important components of international organizations and the features of the global order, it was concluded that in the main international organizations, there is a need to redefine the method, trends and regimes. internationalization and changing the approach and structure of effective institutions in facing global issues, especially security, environmental and economic issues. It is expected that if the new roles are not redefined in the main international organizations, the new regional and thematic organizations that are being created and strengthened with the support and initiative of the emerging powers will play effective roles in confronting the actors of the international order.
