Abstract

The United Arab Emirates and the Israeli regime signed a normalization agreement known as the "Abraham Agreement" on September 15, 2020. This agreement shows that previously both countries had relatively good relations and a series of cooperations. One of the different dimensions of cooperation that has gained more momentum after normalization is cooperation in the field of public and regional diplomacy. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of cooperation in the field of public and regional diplomacy between the UAE and the Zionist regime on the regional power balance in Southwest Asia, emphasizing the role of the geopolitical weight of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The present study is descriptive and by examining and studying documents and interviews with 66 experts and experts in this field to describe the independent variable of the research (normalization of norms and cooperation in the field of diplomacy (general and regional)) and its effect on the dependent variable. (Balance of Power in West Asia). The results of experts' answers to 5 questions in the fields of general and regional diplomacy showed that nearly 81% of the respondents believe that the normalization of relations between the UAE and the Zionist regime in the field of diplomacy (general and regional) is associated with a large and very large negative impact on the geopolitical weight of the Islamic Republic of Iran and will change the balance to the detriment of Iran in this area.
