The security environment model of the Islamic Republic of Iran from the perspective of the Brookings Institution

Abstract
Becoming aware of the issues considered by countries, think tanks, and strategic institutions in the world is one of the necessities of strategic thinking in the Islamic Republic of Iran and its military and law enforcement institutions. The security environment is a geographical boundary in which the opportunities and threats of a country are defined and is heavily influenced by domestic and international environmental variables. In the present study, reports published by the Brookings Institution are analyzed with a focus on issues in Iran and the West Asian region, and important patterns of the international and regional security environment are proposed and counted. In the present study, we seek to answer the following question: What is the pattern of the security environment of the Islamic Republic of Iran from the perspective of the Brookings Institution? The documentary method was used to collect data, and the data-driven method was used to analyze the data. The research findings show that the security environment model of this think tank focuses on ten main concepts and two basic categories. At the category level, the emphasis is on the priorities and strategies of the security environment. At the concept level, the issues considered are, in order, political elites, middle class, allies, militias, proxy forces, economy, competition and confrontation, conflicts, policies and tactics. The final result shows that think tanks and study centers of Faraj and other armed forces should pay more attention to these ten concepts and two basic categories in order to develop a model in the field of security environment.
